The duration of a treatment session depends on the size of the body region to be treated. A treatment of the upper lip takes about 10 minutes. For the treatment of the legs you have to expect about one hour per session.
The life cycle of a hair is divided into three phases: growth phase, transitional period and resting phase. Only hair that is in the anagen phase (growth phase) can be treated, ie about 20 to 30 percent of all hair. After about 6 to 8 weeks, another part of your hair roots becomes active and can now be treated. For this reason, several treatments are necessary for a permanent hair removal of all possible hair.
With the modern alexandrite laser, YAG and diode lasers and the I²PL ellipse systems, we have a wide range of treatment options for all hair and skin types at the medical and laser center. After prior consultation and detailed examination, we can select the right treatment method for you and create your individual treatment concept.
Most Northern and Southern European types can be treated with the Alexandrite laser. For darker skin types with very deep-set hair, a treatment with the YAG laser, which was specially developed for dark skin types, is recommended.
In general, the ideal conditions for all treatments are light skin and dark hair. Very blonde or gray hair can not be removed with the laser and the IPL method because the hair is missing the dye melanin.
For lighter hair or very dark skin, we recommend a trial treatment to test the effectiveness and effectiveness of the procedures, as well as the reaction of the skin and hair.
Long-term studies over several years (see also studies / download) prove the durability of hair removal in both IPL and laser technology. The studies also show that the laser provides significantly more effective hair removal than the IPL procedure. Already after a treatment the hair density decreases. For a good result about 6 to 8 sessions are needed. After each treatment, the number of hair decreases. The response to laser treatment is individually different and can not be accurately predicted. Dark, relatively thick hair is best for laser treatment.
For more than 10 years, we have been carrying out the treatments with great success and to the satisfaction of our customers and patients.
For hair removal, the alexandrite laser has proven to be very effective. The laser emits light of a specific wavelength (755 nm). The light pulses penetrate into the upper skin layer and are transported via the melanin of the hair to the hair root, which is thereby destroyed. A treated hair root is no longer able to produce new hair. In laser technology, the skin is gently cooled by the integrated cooling system (DCD - Dynamic Cool Device). The laser therapy works especially with dark hair, as they contain the dye melanin sufficiently.
Both the alexandrite laser and the I²PL (Intensified Pulsed Light) technology destroy the hair follicle. Unlike the laser, the flash lamp generates short, intensely pulsed light pulses with a wavelength of 645 - 950 nm. A cooling gel is applied to the previously shaved hairline prior to treatment. The energy is, as with the laser technology, transported via the hairline to the hair follicle. There it comes due to a thermal reaction to a desolation of the nutrient cells of the hair root. A treated hair root is no longer able to produce new hair.
In principle, IPL, FPL, CPL and devices that use radiofrequency therapy are lasers. Real lasers such as alexandrite, diode and YAG lasers are, however, approved for professional use in medical centers, dermatological practices and university clinics, ie certified medical facilities. IPL (FPL, CPL) and RFT devices may also be operated by cosmeticians.
Almost every IPL manufacturer, but also almost every user lures with the statement to use the latest and most advanced system. The problem these statements because the normal customer can hardly distinguish, for which treatments achieved what system by which quality the desired effect. To be sure, clinical studies on the system used should be available that have been performed by dermatologists or university hospitals. There are in fact only two technologies to permanently remove hair, namely the laser and the IPL method. With IPL systems, there are great differences in quality between the individual devices. Mainly one can differentiate between cosmetic and medical IPL systems,
At Laderma, we use both lasers and IPLs for our treatments to provide you with the most effective methodology, tailored to your skin and hair type. As part of the quality standards of the Laderma Aesthetics Centers and the Medical and Laser Center, the holistic treatment concept plays a decisive role. Only after thorough assessment and analysis of the desired body area, the individual treatment process is set.
You should avoid intensive sunbathing about 3 to 4 weeks before the treatment and also not go to the solarium. This also applies accordingly for the time after the treatment.
For a facial treatment, the make-up must be removed and the skin thoroughly cleaned before treatment.
For a good acid balance of the skin, it is important that you regularly drink enough liquid. Please note that you drink daily 1½ to 2 liters of water, fruit juice, herbal or fruit tea.
With our methods, all body regions can be treated. The procedures are equally suitable for treatments on the legs, the genital area, on the back and face.
The laser and light pulses striking the skin can be felt as a slight tingling or pricking. The treatment may also be painful. If you have concerns, we will gladly give you a test shot on your skin during the consultation so that you can gain an impression.
Treatments with our IPL or laser systems during the summer months are unobjectionable, provided that rules of conduct are observed, which should be complied with anyway during sunbathing:
With this simple precaution, IPL and laser treatments can be easily linked to your other summer activities. If vacation plans require interruption of treatment for a longer period of time (longer than the usual 4-8 week treatment breaks), then this is possible. In this case, please consult our practice team.
Hair removal institutes are springing up like mushrooms. If you can not deal with the subject in detail, it is in principle difficult to distinguish good providers from bad ones.
